Anyone know what the ARP bolts in the kit look like???
(part #134-1002) I'm thinking it's not counter-sunk style.
No they are not so if you have the new plate you cannot use them.

So p/n 12589016 is the new plate with countersunk holes and p/n 11561455 is the correct bolt for the plate. I'm assuming that bolt part number is for just one bolt and not the 4 needed for the plate?

Correct. That is for one bolt. So x4 when ordering that part number.

Installation torque is different as well, if you use 18 lb-ft the plate will split. According to my notes it is 11 lb-ft.

The 4 bolts cost almost as much as the plate.

Thanks for the torque tip!

I went 18 ftlbs. Didn't know there was a lower toqrue setting. My plate didn't crack or split. I tightened them in small hand turns, before bumping up to 18 ftlb. Will this cause issues in the long term? Or should it be ok? I really don't want to tear down the front of the motor since I finally got it back into the car...

I don't know. A few guys had them split, I have even heard of a few cases where the factory installed plate was split. I wouldn't think it would be an issue, however the plate is the block off for the oil gallery so if you see your oil pressure heading south at some point in the future you may want to check this plate.

From what I have seen the gasket is not available seperately. You must buy the plate to get the gasket. Someone posted they got a Victor brand plate from Car Quest and it was the old style, I'll be checking that out soon.

No I was asking if I buy a new plate are the gaskets the same? I want to use the flat plate because I already have arp bolts for it. If the gasket is different then ill just buy the new style bolts I'm just trying to save 12$ that could be spent elsewhere.

I don't think you can remove the seal/gasket from the plate. It seems bonded. I wouldn't try and screw with it. If that gasket/seal is even nicked, then you can lose oil pressure.

I have the ARP bolts and they are for the older flat plate. I had bought a new plate from Katech awhile back and it's the older type. Worse comes to worse, sell the bolts and buy the new type.

Both style plates use the same seal you just have to match the correct bolts and torque to the style of plate you are using.

Flat plate at bolt holes: hex head bolts - 18 ft. lbs.

Counter sunk holes: torx drive, flat head bolts - 11 ft. lbs.

You need to upload the pic to photobucket or other host. Then you can link it in with the yellow picture icon when doing a reply.

Are the plates in ya'lls cars the same as my truck?

The only seal mine had was orange RTV in the groove cut in the back of it.

You could tell it wasn't a seal/gasket, as you could see the excess where it oozed out.

Just curious.

Thanks

Are you saying they have the non-countersunk bolt holes...?
