Default stock heads

I found a guy selling stock heads for an ls1 for a $100. would it be worth it to get them. and port them for my heads and cam swap? how would they compare to a set of aftermarket heads? and if i do that whhat would be a good cam for it. i would only want a mild lope good for a dd.

Uhh.... What do you drive and current mods? Budget?

In most cases a stock casting head won't be capable of an aftermarket casting. AI does some amazing work however.

what are the casting numbers of the heads you are looking at?I doubt they are 243/799.look at a TSP cam/head combo,2.5 5.3 heads and a 224r cam pkg.what trans do you have?you will need a new tune.wait for a 4 th of july sale.
