Default Pushrod length?

What is the negative to incorrect pushrod length? I have read a few replys on threads abought the sewing machine sound and i have this issue using 7.4 on a milled to 61cc trick flow head using a 226/230 cam.
I read trick flow says to use a 7.5
I know measureing is the best bet i am just trying to understand this.

The consequences of the wrong pushrod length vary depending how wrong the length is . A little wrong can merely be noisey, a lot wrong can result in an unstable valvetrain with all sorts of problems such as bent valves etc.

For what it is worth - the Morel lifters will shorten the otherwise applicable (for OEM lifters) pushrod length by 0.050 inch; and milling the heads to the 61cc will reduce the otherwise applicable (for TFS heads) pushrod length by about 0.015 inch.
