Ordered a Torquer V2!
Just finished ordering a torquer v2 cam from Texas Speed. Since I'm on a budget, I just got the cam by itself. I know I will be needing pushrods and springs, so here comes my first question; Which springs would I want to go with? Beehive or Double? Can I reuse the factory spring seat/retainers? Moving on to the pushrods, do I order the 7.4s?
This will be going in a 01 6spd SS w/full exhaust, lid, stock engine, tranny, and rear.
Thanks. -Luis

go with pac 1518 beehives. you can reuse your stock locks, retainers and seals with these. they are also one of the best beehive springs out there. you should measure for pushrod length, but if i had to guess 7.4" - 7.425".

The new comp 918's beehives should work fine, good for .625 lift.. only $169 from TS.,Stock retainers, seats and keepers will work. might want to put some new umbrella seals on her, theyre cheap enuff and good security, 7.4 pushrods should be fine with stock heads.. I am just about to put the same cam in my A4 firehawk, Good luck!!

Appreciate the comments guys, I was aware the package deal is actually less expensive, but had to take care of some bills, and only had x amount to play with, plus I didnt want to wait another 2 weeks Still have some time to make up my mind and order the springs/pushrods. Thanks again!

Are you comparing 2 cams apple to apple?
Better yet, let us give it another twist! How about "does increase in overlap alone, increase horsepower/Trq?"
What makes it BETTER?
Have you been drinking marketing Koolaid

I don't get into cams technical specifics, honestly its not my thing....and never will be. I have read a lot of reviews from owners, and from non-affliated sponsors, and ridden in a bunch of cammed LS1s.....that's where I form my opinion. Hearing TSP say they think the V3 is better is just icing on the cake. After all, it is the V3, which we all know 3>2.

Do yourself a favor replaxe your stock seals if your going to use stock heads. I got this cam which us really nice by the way but left stock valve seals and now im burning oil with the new hp oil pump. This may be a hit or miss thing but just change the seals while your in there.
