Thanks, just wonder if they use new rockers with this set or the used ones that people send back. Maybe Texas speed will chime in.

I did read that, but just wondered if they used any new rockers or if all were the used ones. I would really rather have new rockers as who knows how many miles might be on the ones I get. Someone just posted that Harland sharp uses new rockers arms, so will probably go that route.

I've been told by numerous shops stock rockers are about the best ones you can use. Mileage on a used set isn't an issue if they are replacing the only part that would have wear on it... Hence the whole reason for the trunion upgrade.

The tips can still be worn through the nitriding on a used set.

exactly. You can do the job in under an hour for around $100 once the rockers are off the heads. The instructions that come with them leave no room for error. It's a job an 8 year old can do. Use the $$ saved and go faster. Someone also made a video in the multimedia section here on tech.

Not sure why you would do the trunnion upgrade on "new" rockers. GM re-designed the rocker bearings several years back to eliminate the needle dumping issue.

If you buy them from us, they will be brand new stock GM rockers we use for the upgrade. Because we never received any core rockers back (or very few), we had to raise the price to cover new rockers. That being said, we still offer customers $40 back if they send us their used stock rockers.

So why would someone upgrade "new" rockers that presumably no longer exhibit the problem the upgrade was designed to address?

Because the stock rockers still have the same issues they always have. Their needles bearings are not caged, they are still noisy, and they will still spit their guts out at the first sign of binding.
