Default Metal Shavings In Oil...

I changed my oil today and after I drained all the oil out of the oil pan and pulled the oil filter I noticed that on top of my oil catch pan there was a small amount of metal shavings. So I decided to cut my filter open and inspect the inside but there weren't any metal shavings in there? Anyone have any Idea of where this could be from? I sea foamed my car the day before, could that be a reason why there is some shavings in my oil? There isn't any knock from the bottom end so it couldn't be a spun bearing... Could it??

Thanks in advance!

definately hear a bearing...

Is this the first time you have changed the oil in the car? what do you mean by shavings, actual small slivers of metal,, or glitter sized sparkles of metal.

It was the first time to change the oil myself (I was tired of taking it to the shop). But I say it was mostly glitterish size of metal. I'm just curious as what it could be and if I need to be worried about anything.

Was there any metal stuck to the drain plug? Same thing happened to mine when the valve springs wore out and chewed up the lifters and cam.

Nope, drain plug was clean. Actually I just had to replace it today because it was leaking, so after I drained my new oil I had it all in a cheap $2 oil catch pan and inspected the oil and there wasn't any type of metal in there. (But then again that oil had only about 20 miles on it)
