I'd look for an LQ4 block and use this kit, if I had the funds. Im doin a 370 LQ4 at the moment didnt have the funds for the kit.

I went the 383 route, I already had the block, after the internals, funds made me stick with the heads I already had, I know the power would have been more with a better set of heads, and a cam for them, I am running a nitrous cam in mine though. MY advice is this, Go the route thats gonna net you as many cubes as you can get. If I had it to do again, I would definately purse the 400+ ci route.

Would you go with the 427 stroker kit instead of the 383?

No that long of a stroke pulls the piston out of the bore and can cause them to rock and cause more sideload.

Did you have that dynoed? 480 rwhp is pretty impressive on stock cubes!
