It depends. i vacuumed the block with a wet-vac to remove coolant before pulling the heads. That saved on cleaning time. But, even so, probably took as long to clean the head bolt holes as to tear-down/reinstall everything else.
I also installed ARP studs. That said, probably had 20hrs labor in the job total. This included a cam swap.

If you have all the tools and do it correctly and have everything already like gaskets, headbolts, etc. if you do depending on skill level I've done them in 5 hours with all the cleaning and scraping old gaskets off. You'll also have to do a oil change so don't forget that.

While I'm in there what else should I replace. I have new coil packs, injectors, ls6 intake, plugs, gaskets and oil. If so please list part number and if you got a good deal somewhere, let me know. Thanks fellas. also what gains can i expect from swapping on these parts and a new tune.
