Default Best heads EVER ?

Before you guys eat me on "search for it" I did a search but couldnt find a good answer Im about to ditch my 243 stage 2 patriot heads and MS3 for MS4 and cant decide on which heads I like the PRC 227 but some people told me look at Trick flow but I dont want to put a brand that used to be Ford number 1 on my Chevy the engine already has ARP head bolts, high volume oil pump,Mahle pistons and some other good stuff so what heads do you suggest?

You can't really go wrong with the new AFR or TFS offerings for these engines. Check out MAST also.

For a stock bore LS1 the PRC 227 head is the highest flowing current production 3.9" bore cylinder head I do believe. It offers you approx. 59-60cc chamber size potential while still clearing the MS camshafts.

Why not the PRC 215's. If this is going to be a more street suited car, then I'd go with them over the PRC 227's.

The gains you will get from heads/cam switch again are not worth the money you will spend. You will spend thousands of dollars for what - 25 or maybe a few more rwhp - not worth the cash.

Save your money and increase displacement - put together a 408 or more and then a heads/cam change will be worth the effort.

A 100 shot of N2O is your best bargain with what you have now.

Yes, even over the TFS 215's. The PRC 215 will outflow the TFS 215.

Flow numbers are not everything! Look at the complete flow chart don't just look at peak numbers when choosing your heads. Ask yourself how long will you be in peak 700 range of the heads of your choice!

TFS!!!

I know in the states there are some great ls heads, but here in australia we have one guy who has nailed the ls heads. He supplies heads to the v8 supercar race teams as well as drag cars. His new lsx aspirated gto is currently doing 7.5 second 1/4 mile. All heads are cnc ported on a 5 axis cnc machine.

worth a look and everyone who has used these heads with cams ranging from baby thunder racing 220's up to bigger comp cam 240's have had fantastic results. Most Ls1's with 241 cast higgins heads and cam combination are pumping 300rwkw plus, Ls2 are over 320!

In the "Big Bang for the Buck" Category, I am more than pleased with our Advanced Induction 243's.

570 HP on the engine dyno at 6800 with a simple 11 to 1 383 road race motor with a 750 Holley carb. Have to raise the rev limit as the cam selected was still making power. Needs to be moved up 400-500 rpm.

This was also on a known very stingy engine dyno.
