Default ls1 locked up after turned off ???

im from australia and have a 2002 ss commodore with a ls1

was leaving from work put the foot down and it made a loud clack noise ,
drove it like a baby for 1.5 hours and only made the noise when gave it a little rev and chucked back gears ,

it idled as if nothing was wrong sounded fine , but pulled up to mechanics and turned it off and now wont start on clicks and battery starts smoking

what could it possibly cause it was running

would a lose timing chain lock up and cause this ,

the engine was only just service too by the way and oil is still normal colour thanks if u have any info

Maybe turn the motor by turning the main bolt yourself and verify it is locked...but this doesn't sound like a story with a happy ending to me...not that I know much. If it Is locked you should cut open the oil filter.

Did you lose oil pressure? I'm thinking the damage was done when you fiesta heard the clunking, them after she cooled down you fused a rod to the crank.

Take the plugs out, and try to turn it, again. You may have a hydrolock issue.
When the plugs are out, look to see if any are damaged. That could point toward the timing chain.

This happened to my lawnmower last year. It ran great and shut down normally, but the next time I tried to use it, it was locked up. After seeing there was no oil on the stick, I remembered it had been awhile since I'd checked it.
