Default Need some advice

I have been in the search for a LS motor for awhile now and I have stumbled across a really cheap long block. Problem is that the motor is out of a f-body that had a topend fire. My GF is a metalurgist (SP) and she told me that when cast aluminum is subjected to about 1000 degrees F that it can change the structural properties of cast aluminum. I want these guys to send me pics of the motor to see the extent of the damage to the topend but they said they would warranty the motor for 90 days. Problem is I'm not gonna have it in my S10 and running that soon. Money and free time put a crunch on that. I have no interest in the heads being I'm throwing TEA heads on the motor but I'm more concerned about the block than anything. Input would be greatly appreciated here guys. How much should I pay for a motor like this? Thanks.
