Does anyone know if this cam will work/make close to 450rwhp??
Hey guys I'm just wondering if this cam that I found would be alright to try to make somewhere around 430-450rwhp with stock heads. I got it off thunder racing : "TR TRuTorq"dumLeveldum5dum-dum227/239dum .614/.621dum115 LSA ... I don't know too much about cams to be honest but from what I've seen off there website it seems to do well in ls3s lol. All my mods are in my Sig , plus I've got gtp 36lb injectors and a Ported Fast 78. I'm making 370whp 380wtq currently so I'm hoping for that bit more, I know I have to get rid of my crane 1.82s rockers, And the budget won't allow for any heads at this point but they are stock 241s.
Any advice is welcomed!!

43 0 is high with stock heads but its possible.. The cars i have seen make it in that range was no a/c electric water pump fast 102 or92 intakes, speed density tune, huge cam 24x 24x duration cams. Always better to set goals lower and if you do.make a higher.number then you feel better.
Just from what i have seen cams are good for 40 hp increase on average so 410 looks like a.credible number with your cam chose and.the bolt ons you have.

a cam thats good in the lower rpms and up high will not make anywhere near the power you want. the size of cam it will take to make 430+ whp on stock heads will not drive smooth around 2k, low end tq will be terrible, and will need to be spun to the moon. we all would like to have our cake and eat it too, but its not going to happen in this situation. your best bet would be to get a nice heads/cam package to meet your goals. a mild cam with a great set of heads will make a much better driver and have better power across the entire curve. contact AI

430-450 RWHP is what you will make if you add a set of good heads to the equation. A cam only on stock heads will not get you there unless you are on one of those "magic dynos". My guess is that you will be in the 400-410 HP range.

Hmm sounds interesting... okay well can anyone recommend a good cam for me for DD , good low end torque not have to spin to the moon and change springs every 5k lol... I just want to make around 400rwhp with a cam only, and then when I can add some nice heads. I checked out that Eps cam but I couldn't find it on their website, and I don't know if that original cam I posted would be good for me either. I think in future I might hit it with spray but that's a long time coming, just a college kid. Want a good torquey dd with 400rwhp+.

That looks like a great cam but i really have my eye on this cam now after reading some reviews and hearing some sound clips and dyno graphs... its the Texas Speed 233/239 .595"/.603" ... any thoughts on this cam?? i hear this is like probably biggest cam youd like to go for a street cam. thanks!

That looks like a great cam but i really have my eye on this cam now after reading some reviews and hearing some sound clips and dyno graphs... its the Texas Speed 233/239 .595"/.603" ... any thoughts on this cam?? i hear this is like probably biggest cam youd like to go for a street cam. thanks!
Until about 2750-3000 rpms this cam is a little sluggish with the stock 3.42 gears in my car, but after that it pulls very hard all the way to redline. If you really want a torque monster then I would say go with the 228r. You will make more peak hp with the 233 cam, but I think you will enjoy that 228 a little more on the street. I think I would have gone just a little smaller if I had to choose one again for a DD (unless you plan on a set of 3.73s, 3.90s or 4.11s and then this one will be perfect.) Hopefully my next mod will be a new s60 rearend with 4.11s. Hope this helps.
Also, isnt the torquer v2 cam in between the 228r and the cam discussed here? That might be the perfect alternative? Correct me if I'm wrong here.

I am running this cam in my 01 M6 Camaro SS, and it is about the highest I would want to go on the street. It definitely has a great sound to it though. The guy I bought the car from said it made 430 hp at the wheels. However, mine also had 243 heads, an electric water pump, longtubes, custom exhaust and AC delete when it was tuned. Since the tune a FAST 92 mm intake and a Nick Williams 92mm throttle body have been added, so I need to get back on the dyno with it to see what it makes now. Thanks very much for your input it helps hearing from someone who has it! I have stock 3.23 gears which i know is going to hold me back with a cam... which ill more then likely change to a 4.11. The idle sounds amazing which is what im looking for to be honest. Im used to a little radical for the street but i dont want to hate it i mostly do highway anyways. That v2/v3 sounds interesting as well cause like you said its the median which is probably the perfect middle, but the v3 has huge lift and would definitely go through springs, any opinions between a v2/v3? Looking for good low end and not loose alot of peak HP.
My choices so far are between the TSP233/239,228R,V2,V3 or Streetsweeper. Heads would definitely be done when budget allows! Cant wait to have a H/C/I car.

Good luck with your choice, and you will love a H/C/I car for sure. I know I have so far! BTW, I am in college too, so I can understand a budget. Thats why I say lean more toward a cam that suits what your needs are now. An intake and a set of heads could be a little longer down the road than you think, and it would suck to get stuck with a cam for a while that you're not happy with.
