Default Bret Bauer or Ed Curtis?

I don't go to the track and my goals for my car is just a "fun" street car. I've been looking at cams, but need help deciding. I'm undecided out of these 3 cams. Bauer 224/224, StreetSweeper-TQ, & StreetSweeper-HT. I want good low end & mid range torque.

I don't want a cam that makes power up top only. Seems like the majority like the StreetSweeper-HT cam, but how's it compare to the StreetSweeper-TQ? And how about the Bret cam?

I just recently in stalled the streetsweeper HT in my car. I love how it sounds and pulls really good for not being tuned. I have no personal experience with other but HT is def a good cam.

Either Street sweepers going to be a better cam than a 224/224. Ed is Gods gift to camshafts. Looking to have Ed spec me a custom grind this winter for a max effort 5.3 i have in an s-series.

I see this turning to a pat g nut swinger thread rather quickly.

I would go with the streetsweeper HT but a custom cam will always be a good choice.

What makes you think either StreetSweeper cam would be better than Bret's 224/224 cam? From what I've read, Bret's 224 cam is a bad ****.

We installed one of the Streetsweepers in a friends car a few years ago. Can't recall the exact specifications, but it was in the 220's and was on a 112 LSA. He made just over 400 on a dynojet with an 04 Vette, headers, Yella Terra rockers and an under drive pulley.

Why because he calls stuff like he sees it?

Streetsweeper HT would be my choice though. Very nice cam.

Bret is a very nice person to work with, I received some custom build up parts from him, top quality and always in time, they are still running strong in my engine...

Ed is my valve-train builder, and I can't see how he could do wrong...

Both guys are good. Talk to them both and go with the one who makes you feel the most comfortable.

Have Ed set you up with the valve train stuff. He has been great to deal with over the past few years. Fill out the spec sheet and let him take care of the rest!

May I say that defining a "pretty much standard camshaft event" is "pretty much not complicated", in a certain way...

BUT, the camshaft is only one component of your engine valve-train...

Where those two Pro are creating the difference, is in setting up a perfect complete matched valve-train from very bottom to very top to your needs.

About proof, been there done that.

How's that?

how is it a "standard event" .....theres more to a cam than a .050 duration number....i was not singleing anyone out at all.....just giving a suggestion to the OP of not to get caught up on forum nonsense......everybody who owns a cool named cam thinks its the best.........all im saying......
