Default pushrod length

I have morel street link bar lifters, patriot 243 heads, stock rockers, stock metal gaskets. At zero lash I am getting 9 turns to were I am getting almost no movement with rocker were it is snug just hand tight, tipping point just goes away at this point 7.25+.040 preload is 7.29 so I was going to get 7.30 pushrods, with this measurement I can only get alittle more than a quarter turn until torqued. I also tried the bolt turn method with a 7.40 pushrod and got 3/4 turn which is telling me I should use 7.40, rocker is really tight with this length when torqued but I can't see any spring compression at zero lash. Do the morel link bar street lifters have a higher lifter cup? Does anybody have any experience with these lifters?

Yes, Morels are taller. I seem to recall between the taller lifter cup and lower preload requirement the difference was about 0.100".

I thought you were measuring, not counting turns. I don't think you correctly captured zero lash.
