Dart put such a bad taste in my mouth when they first hit the seen. A few yrs ago I used 1 set of "out of the box" castings that made "8" (read again, EIGHT) more HP than a stock untouched 241 cyl head. Needless to say I was very disappointed and the owner of the vehicle was livid.

I'll be looking for those results.
I always follow the builds you do that run the AI heads. There is no debate that AI's ported 243/799, 241 and 5.3 heads make great numbers. If I would have already had a set of 243/799 heads, that is the route I would have taken, but since I didn't, I figured I'd take a chance on AI's CNC'd Dart/RHS heads. I'm not afraid to try new things, but at the same time, I don't want to drop $1,600 on a set of heads that I'm not going to get good gains out of, but Phil assured me that these heads will work great with my combo. According to him, they will be good for 10 to 15 more hp over the AI 232cc 243/799 heads.

If Phil's CNC machine touches it, it's good stuff.

Also can you get these heads bare from AI? I already have BTR Titanium springs.

Yes, that's how I got them because I've already got a BTR spring kit too. You'd just have to e-mail Phil and let him know you want them that way.

Wanted to update this thread. Dropped the car off last night at my builder's shop. He will be installing the AI heads, Accel 44lb/hr injectors and Monster Stage 3 Clutch Kit w/ Tick Performance Hydraulic Cylinder. He will also re-tune the car once all the parts are on. In addition, he's going to install upgraded rod bolts in preperation for me adding Nitrous down the road.

Thanks guys. I'm getting really excited to see and drive the finished product. I'll get it on the dyno once everything gets put on and the street tune is finished.

Still at the shop as of today. The ARP rod bolts come in today, so he's going to be working on it some more tonight. I hope to have it back by the end of the week as long as the weather holds out so he can re-tune it.

Are you resizing the rods for the ARP bolts?

All I know is my builder suggested putting in stronger rod bolts for when I spray. I just assume they are ARP.

Read up on them. ARP's require rod resizing, I think Katech's do not.

They both *may* require resizing. By the time you buy and resize Katech rod bolts, you can just about buy some Scat I-Beam rods with 9/16" APR cap screws.

With an 02, I'd not worry with it. And I thought long and hard and decided against it because I have an 02 as well.
