The set of rings you buy will have or should have a gap chart with app your going to run.... Im going to run Nitrous so the Chart told me the gap for the top ring should be .0050, and the second ring should be .0055 and this were Wiseco rings.

Joseph Potak's book has a universal ring end gap sizing chart, I suggest buying that book.
In ALL cases, the 2nd ring end gap is bigger than the top ring.
Quote:
"The problem with having the second ring smaller than the top ring gap is that combustion will always be captured in between the two compression rings with nowhere to go. This usually leads to second ring flutter when that captured combustion attempts to escape in any way it can."

Ok thanks guys, I had read that as well and seen the Wiseco chart but seen a few people with the 2nd ring tighter and was confused. I'll more than likely go .005 and .0055 as well.

Per Wiseco you take your bore size X's the column on the chart and that's the ring gap you need.
my was:
bore 3.906 X's .005 = .017-.019 top ring
.0055=.022 -.024 second ring
