Default Need Advice-waterpump replacement

I have a 2002 WS6. It has 30k miles. Getting ready to go to Florida with the car, 1000 miles one way. Since the waterpump and all the hoses are original on the car, should I be worried about them failing during the trip? Age of the rubber components is a concern. The hoses aren't' dry rotted or hard. Obviously, I can't see inside the waterpump to tell what is going on there. I intend to change all the fluids before I go including coolant. What are your guys suggestions?

You'll be fine. I've got 145k on mine and it's been in Florida forever.

my concern is the degredation of the rubber parts from lack of use. I think more damage is done to a vehicle from sitting than from use.

I don't think that the water pump would go bad from lack of use but if the rubber hoses are a concern then swap them out for new ones, doesn't take much time and will give you the peace of mind that I'm sure you're looking for.
