Default how to determine intake or exhaust valve

I tried to search but don't know if I'm even wording the search right....I want to tighten rocker arms according to factory procedure. How will I know if I'm tightening the intake or exhaust side...is it plain obvious with the valve cover off?

Look at which port the valve lines up with.

What are you trying to do? The Gen 3 valvetrain is not adjustable so if the engine is assembled and running now which I am guessing based on the fact it sounds like the valvecovers are still on then there is nothing you can do. It is not like older smallblocks where the rocker nut could be adjusted.

The intake valve/rocker will line up with the intake port. The exhaust valve/rocker will line up with the exhaust port.

I'm just making sure the rockers are torqued properly and checking pushrods. Valvetrain is a little noisier than usual. Sounds like it will be obvious with the covers off. Thanks for the quick responses
