Default Lsx iron block with afr 225 heads valve cover change?

Hello I am toying with the idea of changing my balance covers while I have the new motor out but I was wondering if the motor needs to be out of the car do this change? I would be going from stock ls1 covers to Nasty Performance billet covers.

Let me know your thoughts

Thanks!

It would be easier to change the valve covers while the engine is out, but it's still easy with the engine is installed.

Cool so even going to taller covers it won't be bad to do? I'm asking because it's easier if I delay on buying the nasty performance ones for financial reasons but if I have to do it now I will try and swing it.

Let me know, thanks for your help!
