Springs for new cam?
Working on getting a stock LQ4 364 4L80E and turning it into a nice runner. Anyway I'm only changing cams, not heads or intake (Still runnning truck intake) but I'm confused on which valve springs to get for my cam.
Its Speed inc's SI5v2 cam 231/237 .617/.607 112LSA and it suggests PAC 1519 or 1219 my issue is Speed incs website says the 1519's are good to .650 lift and 1219's are good to .625 but if you look at PAC's website they say both are only good to .625 lift. I also thought about Comp's beehive style as well. But not sure which I need.
BTW, this engine may turn 7000 a time or 2 max rpms
Anyway there is a huge difference in price and specs and not sure which to get. Thanks!

With the RPM you specified, I'd opt for the platinum springs with the titanium retainers. It's just a couple bucks more, and it will save some weight in the valve train.

BTR sells the PAC 1905 with Titanium retainers for the same price as his platinums. I'd do those. More seat pressure.

Tooley
I actually spoke with Brian today, I had to place an order with him for a set of Pushrods for my new motor build.
Just to let you know I have a good buddy that currently has is running a Tooley spring kit on his daily driver 1999 Vette with a cam that has a little over .600 lift. They currently have touch over 50,000 miles on them. He is actually fixing to order a new set.

Hey Bama, which springs did he use? I've got a set of dual .660 springs on my C5 vette but I'd think that'd be a major overkill for a much smaller cam, can i get away with the single "beehive" style with a .617 lift?

Man to be honest with you I am not exactly for sure which set that he has on there at the present time. However I do know for sure that they are Tooley'd. Search ( chevy406 ) on tech and send him a P.M. Or better yet, give Brian a call and discuss your application with him.
