Default Oil pressure jumps when letting off throttle

Anyone have any idea what could be causing my oil pressure once the car is warmed up to jump when letting off the gas? It rises with Rpms but when I left off it jumps a little higher then goes down normally.

Hot idle is usually around 20psi and once I hit the gas it usually goes to 40psi cruising and a little higher when I get on it, then I let off and it goes a few psi higher.

Thanks

I honestly don't know but my 99 idled at 50psi lowest was 45psi on a hot day idling with AC on. It would peg the gauge at 6k. That was with a ported LS6 pump though. Stock I don't think I ever saw less than 35 at hot idle running 5w30. Any possibility your oil pickup o-ring isn't seated right?

Normal.

The pump is moving a high volume of oil at rpm when you lift the demand for oil goes down the bypass can't handle the extra volume and the pressure goes up a little.

Thanks Guys,
Gray that makes perfect sense then as to why it does that. I was afraid a bearing was bad or something was screwed up.

Gman, it is all untouched from the factory. I have all new parts ready to go in for the cam but was worried about the oil.
