My pvc piece in the driver's side valve cover blew out of the grommet when I test drove it for the first time yesterday now my oil pressure stays at 20-24 psi where as before it stayed at 40psi it was like a five min drive seen 6lbs of boost only and the valve covers have smoke coming out the pvc ports when it warms up I have a filter on passenger side valve cover port and nothing on the driver's side because I can't find the piece that blew out of the grommet

So it went from a normal running motor with good oil pressure to low oil pressure and the pcv system has some white smoke coming out of the valve covers when I only let it boost to 6lbs one time

Was it tuned for the boost? Did you have a wideband or log the pull? If you blew the pic did it spit oil and you just have low oil level? Hardly enough info given.

This motor is a junkyard motor I built a nice 5.3 bored to 3.903 wiseco -11 cc pistons eagle h beams arp everything ls6 intake 853 ls1 heads tick performance turbo cam clevite bearings motor was all new except crank truck was tuned at rpm motorsports on 10lbs when he said I needed bigger injectors than the deka 60s I had and a water methanol kit so I have the methanol kit it will be here tomorrow but my motor spun a bearing at 200 miles and 4 track passes because my machine shop screwed me and didn't check my crank and it was bent so I pulled it while saving up money for my forged crank I put in my junkyard 5.3 short block used all my cam heads ls6 oil pump lifters new gaskets oil pan and pickup are the same ones everything I swapped over except pistons rods crank and bearings so my computer is tuned for a 346 on 10lbs instead of a 323 on 10lbs that's why I just went for a short test drive to make sure everything works no leaks no problems before I go back and have it tuned for the smaller cubic inches and the addition of my water meth kit from Julio all other things being pretty much the same tho as I said heads cam all that no change

I do not have a wide band yet we use the one on the dyno when they tune it it doesn't see any street time yet except the 5 min drive it's not a perfect project it's just a toy s10 I play with trying to get it running right I don't cut cheap corners but I'm not made of money of course so not all the parts a person would want on a turbo motor have been bought yet like a wideband and a nice boost controller but I did pay for a good dyno tune on this pcm just hasn't been tweaked for the 5.3 I threw in it I use stock pcm converted to standalone

It's not spitting oil out anywhere I can see at all just the smoke oil level shows its correct on the dipstick I ran 15w40 always before but I have 5w30 in this motor just for a few hours till I change it the first time to get out anything that was in the junkyard motor I cleaned it up good but it still had some gunk build up I tried to get it all as clean as I could the pump and pickup were spotless tho and the o-ring is new and seated correctly when I put it in

Unless you have a massive turbo or are running E85 I don't see how 10lbs of boost requires injectors larger than 60's on a 5.3. If you have the stock PCV that is a no-no with LS and boost. You need to vent the valve covers or run a check valve and a catch can so you dont pressurize the crankcase under boost.
