High millage worries?
I am currently looking at a 2000 camaro ss, m6 car. It is said to be in good shape from the dealer. I am awaiting pics, but only thing is, the car has 80,200 miles. I have been told that I should set aside another 5 grand for a motor, but shouldnt the motor be fine till well over 100k if it was taken care of? I did a search and found a couple millage posts. Thanx Alot. Also, what would be the price range for a great shape white 2000 ss with leather, t-tops and m6 with this many miles?

If he's the one that told you to set aside an extra 5k, then you had better be prepaired to trust him. The dealer tells you something like that, you'll be lucky if it starts. GL though, the price sounds about right. Suggestion: either get your own financing, or beat him down on your rate, because he's going to try to make a few points off you for that price.

I'm not flaming, but it took me a few tries to get "raped apes" Just drive the car and see how she feels. If it all rough and stumbly then pass, but if it fires right up and idles/runs nice, you're in good shape.

If the oil was changed regularly the engine should be fine. Expect the synchros in the trans to be worn out. Especially the ones for the lower 3 gears. The clutch will probably be worn out as well. Youre gonna wanna upgrade the clutch and the hydraulics The gears in the 10 bolt might be starting to go. Mine make a loud whining sound during decel while in gear. Theyre quiet while accelerating and cruising.
Anyways, the motor will probably be ok but expect the driveline to be worn out. If you do the work yourself making the repairs it wont be too bad. But if you pay to have it done it could turn into a money pit.
