Default Quick and painless spring advice needed.

I've got a TR220 going in the truck soon. I was originally planning on going with Patriot Gold springs for their value, the fact they're dual springs, Ti retainers, new locks, their reliability, etc. etc.

I'm now quite certain I'll be doing heads next spring. I'm leaning towards the Patriot LS6 style heads, FWIW. I'll probably put 20K daily driven/beaten miles on the motor between now and then.

Should I just save a hundred-plus-bucks, and go with 918's for the time being?

I don't plan on revving much higher than 6,000rpm for now, so I assume the stock retainers are fine? Locks too?

I don't suppose the resale on PP Golds with 20K on them will be all that good... while the 918's would probably be questionably by then anyway.

Thanks.

Just use the 918s. I've got 25k on mine with an XER cam. My buddy has 20k on his 918s with the TR220 in his truck without issues. Stock retainers and locks will be perfectly fine. The Ti retainers only weight .75gms less anyway. 918s are underrated IMO.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

(I'm mainly going with the TR220 because of you Brad I mailed you about your friends truck a while back - over the winter I think. You gave a lot of good info.)

The blue LS6ers are not stiff enough. They're only 100#s on the seat.

Marc-You'll love the cam.
