TR224 installed, Questions!!
I installed a TR224/224 112 on Monday. The car is untuned.
As expected when the car was first started it took a minute to sort itself out and come to a consistant idle. It threw an SES light after driving it but that disappeared today But here is what it is doing since then.
-When it is started from a cold start (ex overnight) it now seems to start right up and idle fine.
-When it is started warm or even within a few hours of it previously running the revs fluctuate between 400-1000 and it almost wants to die for the first 15 seconds or so.
-Once the idle smoothes itself out and it is driven, for the first few minutes if I come to a stop or bring it out of gear the rpms drop and fluctuate between 400 and 1000 like when it was started. This goes away after a few minutes though.
-I know the car is running rich because I can smell gas.
I can't get it tuned yet ($$). Will the computer sort some of this out or will drilling the throttle body out help?
Other than that the car is running good. Sounds awesome and pulls great.

Like JMX said drilling the TB should fix most of those problems up. If you have a scanner just drill the hole out larger until you get you IAC counts between 30-40.

Mine did that also. After driving it about 50 miles the PCM seemed to figure out the idle. Now it just hunts for idle a little after a cold start for a few minutes. The computer needs time to adjust doesn't it?

Re: TR224 installed, Questions!!
My 224 did this as well, I drilled out the throttlebody and it did improve some, I need a tune to really get it under control I think. Once I get heads on I'll go for the tune, until then I can live with it after the throttlebody drill. It surges sometimes but never dies even with the AC on.
