Default What cam for LQ9 crate engine?

I'm thinking about buying a LQ9 crate engine and putting something like a 232/236 or some other big camshaft in it till I can get the money for a 408. But then again I might just build a turbo system and not do a stroker motor till way later.

What camshaft would you guys recomend?

I'd look at some of Futral's cams. I read something about the ron jeremy cam(the cam's unofficial joke nickname). was a one off for either a major max effort 346 or a 408, i can't remember. it was wicked crazy tho. i think you could acheive some serious numbers with a cam like that. i'll go look for it and try and get you the specs.

edit: nm, i had thought it was bigger then it was. was only like 236/239 .601/.610 111lsa. i guess i was wanting it to be a bigger cam, lol.

i'd still talk to futral about a custom cam, but if you don't want to put that much effort into it, the t-rex is definitely a good cam for a 6.0L.

What info do you want?

it would be an LQ9 crate engine(6.0 that came from the escalades and a couple other things I think). Just a cam only engine, with headers, ls6 intake, tuning, thinking about going back with a TCI 4000 converter, gunna do a 9 inch swap with a 3.90 gear and some 28 inch slicks. I am going to set up the suspension from there and work towards going fast.

that type of info.

since this appears a track prepped setup i'd go big; x2/x3, MS3, ect.
