Took my Car for a long ride with TR 224/112 cam...
Joe Prince and Tommy put it in Sat. Just as they were done it started raining and didn't stop ...lol. Anyway I had some time today and went for a long ride.I have no tuning whatesoever except t/b drilled out by Joe. Car runs like a beast. It has a wicked idle and NO VALVETRAIN NOISE!! I have the random misfire code of course, but who cares. My friend who works at chevy did a diagnostic check at idle and when driving under full throttle. He said its not lean or to rich. I am by no means a tuner, but I will get a dyno tune when $$$ permits. It hunts a bit on warm start up, but nothing I cant live with, computer will learn a bit more with driving time I imagine. Joe and Tom are tops in my book, again, I thank you both. Victor

Hey Victor the TR 224 cam is a sweet cam. I know a few ppl who have it and they all love it. It makes power everywhere in the RPM range. Good luck with your new found power and see ya at the track

It takes a wideband to get a truly accurate read on the A/F at WOT.
The TR224 112 cam was one of my favorites to.

any 224/224 cam is awesome... proven HP and ET!
for those warm starts u may need to drill you TB or add some base spark in park timing
I'd add a little bit of timing before drillin to see if that helps

I used the blue striped 918's from comp cams, as Paul from thunder racing sugested. Stock pushrods, stock retainers and redline 10w30. I think the valvetrain is quieter than before.
I will have to get it auto-tapped to find out whats going on. I am new to tuning, was a simple bolt on type before I took the l/t and cam plunge! I know my friend at Chevy had no idea what to look for, he isn't into performance cars at all. What can I check for with a TECH11 at idle? Anything that can give me a window as to whats going on? BTW, Joe Prince drilled out the t/b slightly larger. He also said to use a maft and set the base 1 click lean. Any thoughts on this? He is trying to save me some dyno time edit expense for now. Any help would be apreciated guys, thanks in advance, Victor
