What RPM?
Did some searching and came up with nothing. With a TR 224 cam, 918 springs and chromoly rods, what rpm can the car be safely shifted at? I was told to set the limiter at 6700, the shiftlight at 6400 so i can shift around 6500rpm.....what do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

my friend has the tr 224 cam and peak power hits @6200 so around 6500 should be about right. my 228/228 don't peak until 6400-6500 but i still shift mine there because i'm scared of the carnage that might occur if i go much higher.

From then on, it is trial and error. Doing multiple runs at different shifting points untill you're satisfied with your results.
Basically you want to keep the highest amount of power between shifts.

You'll be fine shifting at 6500rpms. The 01+ LS1's got stronger rod bolts from the factory so they can go alittle higher than previous years. When I was running my stock heads my TR224 112 peaked at just a tad over 6000rpms and stayed flat to 6400rpms where I shifted for max power. After adding my heads I noticed on the new graph the cam peaked at 6100 and holds flat to 6500rpms. HTH

How bad is this for the engine? I know red lines were set intentionally low to help out in reliabilty issues. Is 6500 brutal hard on a stock LS1? I ask, because I've not consiterd upping my redline until this thread.
