I won't be changing springs with my cam install, but I still need to take off the rocker arms and remove the pushrods so I can hold the lifters up by placing some brake line in oil valleys....right?

You just need to pull the rockers and pushrods, no need to put brake line to hold the lifters. Just spin the cam over a few times before you pull it out to push the lifters into their trays. Then just get the old cam out and the new one in, in a timely fashion and you will have no problems.

You could do it that way. Many people have gotten by with that method...but if a lifter drops, its a pain in the ***. 5/16's dowel rod, or brake line, will work just fine to keep them up if you want some insurance.

Ya if u feel the need to use the brake line that is fine, but I have done 100's of installs and never once had a problem......knock on wood

ahh the russian roullette method.Ive used it and it works unless you have an earthquake in your area .I guess its up to the individual which method to use.good luck.

You can do the russian roulette method or just use pen magnets.

this is the methode I use also...the 5/16 dowel rods can be bought for somthing like 1.50 @ a hardware store..and you dont have to worry about droping a lifter!!!! WORK SMARTER NOT HARDER!!! just my $.02
