full exhaust what have you guys had the best luck with as far as y-pipes, cats, and cat backs? also, is it a smart idea to put headers on a street car? if so do it all at once or do headers later? if i do it later they will have to be shortys right?

shortys are not worth the cash IMO. Most power is not made with a Y pipe. The Dual set up is much more potent for power. Do a search and u will find what u need.
