cometic head gaskets

cometic head gaskets hey guys i just got a pair of cometic head gaskets, and they seem a littel weird, the outside layer is just a regular layer of steel no rubber ring around the cc or around the outside edge, is this normal??? excuse my noobnees but iam used to mls head gaskets having a rubber coating or some kind of softer coating aroung the edges for better seal.

I'm putting Cometics on my new H/C setup. I don't know about how they should look, but your exhaust gaskets are the same way (i.e. obviously no rubber or any other material).
