Default Cam reccommendations????

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of installing my Heads/Cam...and I'm starting to think I should go with a different cam. I currently have a Comp Cams 230/230...591"/.591" lift.....279/279 duration...and a 110 LSA. This made 430 hp on the motor it came off of, with almost exact mods, and got around 22mpg on the hwy.. ...I want to be able to get better gas mileage and driveability...this car isnt a daily driver, but I want it to be capable of driving it daily, I also want to take it on road trips. I DEFINITELY want to stay over the 400hp mark though. any cam reccommendations???

Hey I know what you mean.....so many options out there!!!! The cam that you maybe looking for will be somewhere between a 224-230 cam on a 112 or 114 with a lift of 550-590. I have said this before.....and will do it again!!! Call all the venders to the right------> tell them about your combo and your goals on power/performance/mileage expectations....and they should be able to get you pretty close to your goal. Remeber if you change on thing in that combo....you could affect your total outcome!!!!! I know they are trying to make money on there products....but they should know what you need!!! I've noticed pretty good christmas specials!!!! Hope this helps...and remember bigger is not better....having a matched setup is!!!!

theres more to gas mileage then cam spec's. hell, i could take a stock ls1 and make it get 10 mpg . gears, rear end, tranny and driving style will be bigger contributors.

I have to go with JRP on this one. If you keep your foot out of it than your MPG will go up. I know u will get on it a lot at first but u will learn to keep your foot off the gas or you wall will become so light you will just float away.
