timing cover gasket?
So the timing cover gasket CAN be reused?
I just realized that I have a different shaped gasket #12574293 that I received in a kit from FMS. I don't recieve any constructive info when I cross refence it on GMpartsdirect other than "gasket" So I can reuse it and I don't have to run around tomorrow to buy the "right one"?
BTW, Anyone know the gasket that the part number belong to?
Thanks

Thanks. Still would like to know what gasket I got. Forgot to metion it's black. Could it be the rear cover gasket?
CORRECTION: Just checked the Futral website and it is the rear cover gasket. Guess I got the wrong one in the CAMSWAP kit.
BTW, so I basically I don't need to use most of the stuff from the camswap kit since the water pump, timing cover, and valve cover gaskets are reusable?
Should have just bought a crankseal, new bolt, and o ring and been done with it.

But if they are designed to be reused then they should. My car only has 14000+ miles on it so I figure I might be good. And it was 50 bucks.

You can reuse them but like some one said look for tears and make sure it is not flattend. It needs to have some expantion etc... The water pump gaskets change them they are like $6 for them and it is cheap insurance to keep from having to redo it etc... I have only had a had full or water pump gaskets make it look closely Ive had them seperating from the metal and was afraid that they would leak so they are changed every time just about.
