Question Opinnions on this set-up

AFR 205 heads | cam 220/220-115 | F.A.S.T. 90mm intake & T/B | Underdrive pulley. Also considering 42# fuel injectors?? | hi-flow fuel pump??

I'm wondering if a TR 224/224-114 would A)Gain any more power, B)Get me in trouble with California smog emissions, C)All the above.

I'm sure the 220/220-115 will pass smog no problem, but am I leaving too much on the table (power wise) by not going with the TR cam?

This is for a 2001 Z28 A4 2:73gears. Existing motor mods: Edelbrock shorties, Predator program, Fast Toys Ram Air. Latest dyno it did 309hp@5400rpm with 326trq@3900rpm. Car is daily driver with good gas mileage. I want to stay smog legal without hassles.

Please respond. Thanks in advance.

the TR 224/224 114 will pass with a good tune, anything passed 224 will not pass, and almost anything less than 114 will not pass. The power difference from my understanding between the 22/220 115 adn the TR224/114 wouldnt be to significant, but im not positive on that. Also injector sizes, i believe that the stock ones would be fine, just get a higher flowing fuel pump and it should wake up ur stock ones pretty nicely

Thanks for responding.

I've been reading the boards about the TR224/114 and there is so much conflicting messages. Bottom line, if the TR224/114 doesn't make hardly any more gain, then it makes sense to use the 220/220-115 and not worry at all about smog.

Also I keep reading on the boards that getting a supercharger is really the way to go for California. It's tempting but it will definately break the bank.

Decisions, decisions.
