Default Valvetrain Geometry PLEASE HELP!!!!

valvetrain geometry please help!!!!!! Ok I have a friend that built a LS1 382 stroker. Well the firet time he put it together a certain cam company missed up the numbers some where and he bent all the intake valves but the thing we are wondering is the motor did not bend the valves when we first cranked it up it just all the sudden started making a poping noise back through the intake after we let it warm up for about two hours and then drove 9 miles it started and know we put it back together with a different cam and stock pushrods and rocker arms and it started making the noise again after driving it this time about 20 miles and warm up again about the same time but like I said it does not make the noise at first and run good until it made that noise I just wonder if anyone knows why this could be happening he also has comp R lifters and I think these are the ones that require very preload.

Are you sure you are getting the timing gears dot to dot?

sounds like you never checked your piston to valve clearance good enough. if the cam was ground far enough off to cause that then you should have found that out when you checked piston/valve.
btw nice run on sentence.

We checked the piston to valve clearance with clay and it never touched the clay.
BTW I like the capitalzation errors TrendSetter.

what timing gears are you using. if you are using the double roller it is easy to look ath the wrong dot.
