hey guys should i change my order from 114 to 112lsa??? need quick advice.
i need some quick advice.. my cam hans't shipped out yet or reallly been processed yet, this is a f14 on a 114 lsa... im thinking i want the 112.. i know 114 is better for n2o and autos, but i want the mean sounding idle.. im afraid the 114 lsa with the 232/234 wont sount that great.. it have + 5 overlap is all vs the 112 which has + 9, and the f13 112 even has +7... the f14 i heard on a 112 sounded nasty, but im scared mine wont be quite the same.. on the same note futral really wanted me to go with the 114 cause im spraying 100-150 shot...
but im also intrested in midrange power n/a.. and i heard the 100-150 shot doens't matter what lsa its on, it only matters when u step up to 200-300.
i think i may call them back and change it or see if i cant get a custom 113 lsa or something.

Cam is not for sound. sound can be achieved by idle, exhaust etc...
DO NOT base your cam choice on sound.
Base your cam choice on your performance/drivability need.
A4 cars need vacuum at idle more than M6. If your car is Street/strip get the 114, Futral made the right decision.
I can make a 116lsa idle like a 112 through the exhaust, just more nervous that is all.

can't say this enough....choose the cam based on performance, NOT sound.

I've always been of the philosophy that builds for NA power first unless....(see bold type).
I'm running a lil' bitty F11 on a 111(436/406 through the 12 bolt/ 4:56's/ 28" slicks)and going to spray it w/a 150 TNT wet hit next week. The Hose will just be the icing on the cake. I'm not one of these guy's that's gotta be quicker than everybody else.... just lookin' for respectable track #'s while making good power/torque on the street. I think the N2O#'s will still be acceptable. JMFUO.
The F14 on a 114 WILL hit a nice lick..... Allan knows best what his grinds will do per any given application. Is this a DD that only see's occasional track time and a few street races, or is this a dedicated max effort N20 race car, always in the power band?.... All you gotta do is figure out what you're doing w/the car, and he'll do the rest.
Btw.... this build isn't for the boys over a SCF is it?
