Default rollmaster timing

What do you know about timing the ls1 180 degrees out of phase? thats puting the crank gear dot at 12 oclock and the cam gear dot at 12 oclock also?

You will have the cam installed "dot to dot". The cam sprocket is twice the size of the crank sprocket. When you turn the motor over they will line up.

It's the same as dot to dot but harder to see if you are right on. It just means if you don't move the engine the timing will be 180 different at that point then normal. another words now number one cylinder will be on TDC compression instead of overlap. It would be very hard to see putting in a cam that way on purpose unless someone was just plain ignorant.

Do it dot to dot so you can see where things are and then you can just turn the engine over one revolution if you want it with both dots to the top at assembly time.

wouldn't they still line up?

If you line them up dot to dot and spin it over once wouldn't both be at 12o'clock?

Yes. Thats is where the crank/cam sensor come into play. The PCM knows when to fire. If the dots are ligned up you are OK.
