Default Cam questoins,Best power with no headers.....

I was curious as to what cams would some reccomend that want a stealth idle, and make lots of low end tq with a shift peak of 6200 threw exhaust manifolds.

Its very important to me not to lope, surge, and I want lots of torque to move my GTO off the line..I'm running a TCI3000 stall,CAI,ASP,TB and HF catted X pipe with Magnaflow exhaust.

I dont wanna put headers on the car....I want it to look stock, idle very stealthy and make good power from 2800 to 5900....

Search around, there was a post by someone who used thunder's new cheaTR cam and made nearly 400 rwhp with AFR 205's through stock manifolds.
Although I don't know how "stock" your car would seem to somebody who knew what they were looking at, I guess you could get the cam past them.

JS, you absolutely cannot tell there's a cam in my car, but it pulls very hard to the 6800 rpm redline. With PPC dual springs (aka Patriot Gold), I get only a small increase in valve clatter vs. stock. With the VE tables modifed, the cam can be lugged down to 500 rpm (just like stock) and pulls cleanly to very high rpm.

My vacuum reading at idle is 18". I raised the idle to 850 for absolute stealth. At 800 rpm it has a small beat to it. In an automatic, the converter would soak up more of the shake, allowing for an even lower idle speed. Cam specs are in my signature. Thunder Racing should have some dyno sheets on a car running with stock heads in the next few days.

I dont wanna run dual springs...
I really wanna stay around 560 lift.....Looks like Lingenfelter knows what he's doing with those big splits like the GT2-3 cam looking at your split Pat...

You don't have to run dual springs with the cam JS, they're just what came on my AFR heads. Comp 918s are fine as are Manley singles. The Lingenfelter GT2-3 Cam is going to have a lot of lift too. In my opinion, that cam is not as good with stock manifolds and it doesn't have near the area under the curve as the Thunder intake lobe.

JS, we could use my cam specs as a guide and use the trusty Thunder lobes to make you a cam of similar specs. Something like 214/228 .560/.560 116LSA, 115ICL would give you an intake closing point of 42 degrees ABDC (a little sooner for running an auto than my cam), -11 degrees of overlap at .050". Should rock.
