Default Is 5.3 Iron block same as LS1?

I recently cracked my LS1 block. I can do an LS6 upgrade or go iron. My question is, can a 5.3 iron block be bored to basically the same as a 6.0, then use all of my stock accessories, heads, etc.

Thanks

-Adam

a 5.3 iron block cannot be bored to 6.0 but u could always use a bore strocke combo and get ur self there.

5.3 can be bored to a 3.905-3.908 very easily. It would make for a nice strong motor.

Do all accessory holes, etc, line up correctly for an 04 LS1? I imagine it would...

Yeah, you can get the 5.3 to the 5.7 bore (3.893), but not to the 6.0 bore (4.000).

Accessory mounts should line up, but if you have some bad luck, drilling and tapping an accessory hole wouldn't be that difficult

Hmm, interesting. This will end up being a 9:1 motor for my turbo. Would like to get a 6.0 but I might be able to get a deal on a new 5.3

Thanks for the replies.
