So I finally pulled the cam out of my 5.7 motor last night. I have a friend that wanted it. I found that one intake and one exhaust lobe are gouged pretty bad. The rod that broke let a bunch of metal fly around and the lobes have some nasty scars on them.
Can the lobes be fixed and is it worth it? Or do I have a $400 paperweight?

I went to take pics today and found that the camera batteries were dead

I don't see how it is possible to fix it. You can't grind it down, that messes with aspects of the cam. I suppose you could weld it up but I would think that would cost more than getting a new cam.

i think the best thing would be to have a paper weight, even if you could fix it, how safe would you feel putting it in a friends car?

That's true as well. I wouldn't want to screw over anyone, let alone a friend.

Maybe use it, my stock cam, and get two more and make a table with some kick *** legs! LOL
