Default Should i buck out 4 some Rockers??

Was curious if i should invest in some rockers for my car? Do these things make any real HP gains? What brand and style would be my best bet? Car has 30,000miles with mods below.

they sure do. i use the vinci/crane 1.8 accelerated lift rockers on the wife's 99 formula. you can do a search and find more people that use the vinci/crane rockers and have gotten similiar results. even one guy that picked up 10 rwhp over the SLP 1.85 rockers he took off. now, you'll get the naysayers here shortly.

here's the dyno results.
dyno 9 before
dyno 11 500 miles later
dyno 14 10 months later

I hoping to get mine to the dyno this thursday.

I installed the crane: 1.8 rockers, dual springs with Ti retainers.

There are pros and cons. Anything you can do with a higher ratio rocker can simply be ground into the cam to begin with. If youre not planning on swapping cams, then rockers are a good alternative. The rollers reduce friction, and you shouldnt have to worry about them spewing needle bearings all over lik ethe stockers. They do weigh a little more, however. The heavier valvetrain will stress your springs ever so slightly. If youre already pushing the limits of your valvesprings, a heavier rocker could produce valve float and limit top end HP. Usually people run more than enough valvespring so I wouldnt worry about that.

EDIT: I should really learn to read people's sig files.... Youve got a 224 cam, huh? Well, youll have to check to make sure youve got P to V clearence first off. Secondly, this is really only going to give you more lift, while it's duration that would really help you out more, and duration can only be ground into a cam. The vinci / crane rockers dont increase lift in a linear fashion, which is a cool idea. They simulate a faster ramp rate, which may be more helpful in your case. Also, I dont know how those 918's will fare. Even though theyre only rated to .600 now, they can go .625 easy, which youll probably still be under depending on the ratio you get, but the added weight of the rockers wont be doing you any favors with those springs.

I agree with ^ rockers basically increase the lift of the current cam that you have. In some cases (big cams) you will run into p-v clearance. For small cams though rockers are a good idea.
