Default What Oil Do You Use?

I just did a cam swap and figured i would try 10w30 Syn. Modil 1 and ever since i change to modil 1 syn. my valve train has been alittle noisey. I checked my preload and the oil pump was never removed to install the cam so it cant be the O ring. Before i changed to modil 1 10w30 syn I used 10w30 syn-blend and it was fine, I'm just curious on whatever else uses on there camaro/bird. I may go back to syn-blend.

As posted on another portion of the site: "An aggressive cam will make more noise because the valves will be hitting the seats harder and the lifters hitting the lobes harder."

So get Mobil 0w-40 to quiet the noise.

I run Amsoil 5W-30 in my Dad's 5.3 Sierra, and my Mom's 1996 LT1 Roadmaster. My SS has Amsoil 5W-40 European Car Formula in it.

Royal Purple 51 mods in sig. RP 41 in colder weather. (below 60* F) 51 is like a 20/50. 41 is like a 10/40.

Mobil 1 0w-40 with Mobil 1 filter. Next filter will likely be another mobil 1, K&N or Wix.

My best used oil results came from Schaeffer 15W-40 PAO Blend oil. I've used up that supply and plan on going with Mobil1 5W-40 T@ SUV.

I've always run Mobil1 in all of my cars, however I just dropped a stupid amount of money stocking up on some German Castrol 0w30 at AutoZone, so I'll be running that with K&N or WIX filters for the foreseeable future.
