Default ls1 bore/hone

was given a ls1 short block, stock crank, rods, ross pistons, arp hardware. it sat for about 6/8 months, he did spray wd-40 into the cylinders. there is a slight amount of rust on the walls, can the bores safley be touched with a hone to clean up ? also can it be bored at all ?

i would just take it to a shop and have it flex honed. they will take about 20-30 millionths off the bore. plenty to clean up a real light rust.

These blocks are usually just honed, even when going to bigger pistons. Of course the bigger pistons are only a few thou bigger. Not enough meat there to bore like a normal block. I'll bet you'd be just fine with a light honing.
