Default Has anyone made a 99-2000 6.0 work?

I bought a zero mile 2000 6.0, but now I've run into the longer crank ordeal. I guess the later years have a removable spacer to work with smaller transmission, and this one is permanent. It's for my 5.3l truck, but I know you guys have tried and achieved almost everything with these Gen III's.

Thanks,
Will

Go in the truck section, and look at guys who have done 6 speed swaps in 1500's. There was some good information about shims and spacers. Could you possibly swap the crank for the later style, or is that somethign you're trying to avoid?

Don't really want to swap the crank because they all look to be around $1,500. It's starting to look like my only option.
