Need advice on overfilling an LS1 Oil Pan
First, I apologize for posting this on an existing thread.
Need advice:
I have a 2002 LS1 oil pan and it has a baffle in it. Maybe they all do so it's a moot point.
Anyway, I roadrace my car, four events with this oil pan.
I put in 6 quarts of oil for the track event.
I have an oil pressure gauge that holds in memory High/Low oil pressure readings and while driving, I press the recall and it gives me a quick High/Low reading. I especially use it after every hard corner.
It resets every (start up) single session and so far, it has never dropped below idle pressure.
Is this a good way to monitor oil pressure or am I still at risk and don't know it? Or maybe I drive like a *****
I know an AccuSump will add the security but so far I haven't seen the need.
Thanks
Rich
