now do you plan on racing this car and taking it to 7k everyday. or is this just going to be a once and a while weekend warrior. the reason I am saying this. if it is a weekend warrior as far as taking it to 7k then you should be alright for the meantime. what cam are you runnin??? I know I have an F15 and that thing calms down by about 6500rpm. also if you are going to run it ***** to the walls 24/7 then you better get some arp rod bolts before you have to remove the engine for spinning a bearing or somthing worse.

good luck with that. dont say we didnt warn ya. besides to you always rev it to 7k or just on the occasion. and does your car make power all the way to 7k. because if not then there is no use in reving it to 7k.

I have 98k miles on the car and it runs as strong as ever. I plan to get some Katech rod bolts after I install my new heads, as I don't want to chance it with 440rwhp or so.
I don't take it there all day long, maybe once a day, if that. If I go to the track, it will see it every pass, maybe 3 passes or so.
Some have bad luck, some have good luck, but if you want to go fast you have to do what it takes.

just b/c the cam is advertised to make power to 7k doesnt mean it is. you want to turn your motor a couple hundred rpm passed where your power peaks at. you have to be on a dyno to find out where your car peaks at and adjust your rev limiter and shift points to that. i wouldnt suggest turning that much unless you know for sure that you are making power up to 7k. why risk it if you arent 100% sure.

really your shift points need to be adjusted so that on your HP graph, when the engine comes down to the next gear the amount of HP its making is the same as it was when it left the previous gear. What this really means is that most people that are peaking at 6800 or so probably need to shift at like 7300-7400 depending on what your graph says (some setups fall off real quick). Is it adviseable? nope, not on the stock short block...but thats the way to make the most out of your setup...
