Default Looking to end the summer with a CAM.

I have a 2002 WS6. I have

Throttle body, Lid, Headers, Catless Y-pipe, O2 simms, Exhaust. Stock LS6 intake of course

Underdrive Crank Pulley,

3500 Stall Torque Converter, Cooler. Stock 3.23 gears.

I live in Chicago and I am thinking of dropping a Cam in to end the Summer. Then putting in Heads and a 100 shot next summer.

What Cam do you recommend that will give me some good power with no emission problems and drivability issues?

What will make a good combo with my set up?

Should I get the springs now or should I wait till I get heads next summer?

Thanks your input is appreciated.

my setup now is not emissions friendly. Springs are soooo muuch easier when heads are off the motor! I had a 222/226 cam on a 114 that was smog friendly...but i didnt think that they would sniff your car if it is a 2002? From what I have seen they just plug in and that gets all the info possible, but if it sounds suspicious they might double check your exhaust.

Yeap, TR 224/114lsa with p-rods and 918 springs (lopey)
or Comp 224/224 .581/.581 114
or Stealth II 224/220 .581/.581 116
or CheaTR cam (Stealthy)

Or any other cam with a negative degree of overlap and less than 225 intake duration

i believe you can go as high as a 228 split duration and still keep the sniffers on you if you get a good tune

Oh yeah I forgot I live in Illinois I dont have to take the Sniffer test! All they do is hook up a cable under my dash and test to see if it reads any CODES.

Then you can go with bigger cam, F13, G5x3, TSP torquer II etc...
Probably better to get them with a 114 for your auto (that based on vacuum needs and not ease of tune)
