cammed car losing to a non cammed?
last weekend i raced a car exact same mods as me but the guy had longer headers and a tr224 and stage 1 ls1 heads. I was very suprized when we raced 3 times and i beat him all three. That kind of scared me away from doing a cam, but is there any possible way that if i did a f11 or 13 that i would somehow be slower on the street than i am know.....( i have a reputation to keep in my small town)

A stock Honda Civic hatchback will beat a Dodge Viper in a quarter mile run every time if the Viper driver burns rubber for 3-4 seconds on take off. I sure as hell wouldn't throw away the viper though.

My previous car untuned would still beat my bolt on m6 that I have now. Are you an auto or manual? What transmission did this guy have? If he was an auto he had a stall right? An a4 car with heads/cam and no converter would be a dog. A little more info is needed. Other than that if you were both m6 cars then it probably comes down to your a better driver.....cause that alone is something that money CAN'T buy......

Awaiting more info to make an educated guess My main guess would be an unstalled auto, and/or untuned. Or a crappy driver, who sits and spins. There is no way a properly done cammed car will lose to a bolt on car. It's not logical that a 30-40rwhp increase would make you slower.

But that takes all the fun out of trying to take off and shift fast with burning rubber or missing a shift. Still have a ways to go myself.
