when are we gonna see one, how is it gonna be setup, and is it really possible? i mean weve seen soo much crazy stuff in the ls1 world this would seem to be the icing on the cake.

You won't see one without a tall deck aftermarket block. The block will also need a raised cam and kicked out walls to clear the stroke.
With a 4.200" bore, you will need to swing a 4.500" arm to get 499".

I'd venture to say that the 427CI LS7 engine is punched and stroked just about to the max already. I was real impressed with that, to be honest, even after knowing that people are making 454CI small-blocks out of Gen II motors. But who knows??? GM's CEO/president/marketing VP/guy who says what happens/(insert title here)may be trolling this site waiting to see what we V8 fans are looking for in the aftermarket.

well World products are releasing a new block and heads (with 6 bolts per cylinder!!!) and i think thye can strech that to 454! and thats on an Ally block!!
