Default Any special prep work needed when installing 3.9" crank?

I know when you go up to the 4" stroke you need to shim your windage tray, clearance your block (for the reluctor ring I think) and also some other things. Do you still have to do the same extra prep work with a 3.9" crank?

Thanks a lot -Dave
